Live Like You're Dying

WOW the feedback I have gotten from my "Fairytales" blog is AMAZING!!!  I am so happy women and men were able to relate to it.  Something that stood out in several emails, FB messages, texts and conversations was this idea that young women had that they didn't deserve a Christian man because of the mistakes they have made in the past.  Or this idea that she wasn't "Christian" enough to deserve a man of faith. As my good friend Lulie would say, "Those are lies from the pit of hell" .  I wish you could hear her say it.   I literally listened to a voice mail she left me one time over and over again; saved it when  I needed to be reminded that the devil came to kill, steal and destroy.  But that God wanted us to live and live life abundantly.  I can hear her saying it right now- southern, Alabama accent and all. :)  But that's just it, that's what the devil wants you to believe.  He wants us to date guys that aren't spiritua

So this past weekend the first two pageants of the the 2011 season got underway, and lucky for me, I got to be at both of them ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday (: No, really I was.. But I wouldn't have wanted to be any where else. Saturday I judged the Miss Teen North Texas and Miss Teen Trinity River pageant.  I got the opportunity to sit next to a Texas Tech alum which was a lot of fun, but it was also very rewarding.  He had never judged a pageant before and wasn't really sure what to expect.  After 9 contestant interviews (ages 13- 17), he turned to me and said, "Wow, I am blown away.  I just have a completely different opinion of pageants now."  We talked a little about his previous opinion, and I am happy that his new one is so positive. I don't think a lot of people realize how intelligent and well-spoken the girls are that compete in the Miss America program.  Well, how intelligent and well-spoken the successful ones have to be in order to be successful.  The
