ENGAGED

Image
I can't believe it has taken me so long to write about the happiest day of my life (to date).  I got engaged to an amazing Godly man!  Ask any one who knows me and they'll tell you am passionate.  Two things I'm passionate about are my faith, and Texas A&M.  Cale combined the two of them into the best proposal I could have ever asked for! Well, I thought Cale and I went up to A&M for the weekend to celebrate with two of our friends for their birthday and to go to eat for our 5 month anniversary (for the record, Cale has celebrated every month anniversary).  So we packed up and left Houston Saturday morning for College Station.  Lucky for him, I accidentally played into his plan because I told him earlier that week I wanted to make sure I spent time with my girl friend, Shaye, for her birthday.  I called Shaye Thursday night to see what her plan was for the weekend and she said she just wanted to be lazy Saturday so we went up there and I had no makeup on.

"I don't deserve this" - a follow up from Fairytales

WOW the feedback I have gotten from my "Fairytales" blog is AMAZING!!!  I am so happy women and men were able to relate to it.  Something that stood out in several emails, FB messages, texts and conversations was this idea that young women had that they didn't deserve a Christian man because of the mistakes they have made in the past.  Or this idea that she wasn't "Christian" enough to deserve a man of faith. As my good friend Lulie would say, "Those are lies from the pit of hell" .  I wish you could hear her say it.   I literally listened to a voice mail she left me one time over and over again; saved it when  I needed to be reminded that the devil came to kill, steal and destroy.  But that God wanted us to live and live life abundantly.  I can hear her saying it right now- southern, Alabama accent and all. :)  But that's just it, that's what the devil wants you to believe.  He wants us to date guys that aren't spiritua

"Have faith in your dreams and someday Your rainbow will come shining through. No matter how your heart is grieving , If you keep believing , The dream that you wish will come true." Cinderella As little girls we daydream about our Fairytale Wedding.. As we get older, I don't think we stop wanting a fairytale relationship; I just think our concept of fairytale changes.  No longer are we entranced with the Disney and Hollywood's "Happily Ever After", no now we want the things that matter.  We realize no relationship is perfect.  We want a man to honor and respect us, to love us; as Christians we want that man to lead us.  To put God at the center of his life and serve us as his first line of ministry, just as a woman should have her husband be her first line of ministry. As a single woman in Dallas, I am encouraged when I see God in relationships, encouraged that maybe my generation can change the divorce trend in the United States.  With so ma
